Essence of Africa grows some of the superhot chili varieties at its company farm in Central Uganda.
Bhut Jolokia (Ghost pepper) is produced in red, chocolate and peach colors. The heat values of our Bhut Jolokia is between 700,000 and 1,000,000 scoville. Bhut jolokia is used as a food and a spice, as well as a remedy to summer heat. It is used in both fresh and dried forms, to "heat up" curries, pickles and chutneys. It is popularly used in combination with pork or dried or fermented fish
Also grown is Carolina Reaper which has high heat value between 900,000 and 1,500,000 scoville. Carolina Reaper was originally crossbreed between a Ghost pepper (a former world record holder) and a red habanero and is named 'Reaper' due to the shape of its tail.
Other variety is Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. It is considered to be one of the hottest among all the chili varieties. The heat is anywhere between 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 scoville. Aside from the heat, the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion has a tender fruit-like flavor, which makes it a sweet-hot combination.
All the above super hot chili peppers are available in powder form and Flakes (1 to 5 mm).
