"The quality in your product starts not in our processing facility — it starts in the hands of the farmer. That is why we invest in theirs."
Every premium product we export begins with a farmer who knows exactly what they are doing and why it matters. Our farmer training programme is the backbone of our supply chain — a structured, ongoing programme that transforms smallholder growers into world-class producers of premium botanical ingredients.
Our agronomists work directly alongside farmers in the field — not just at the start of the season, but throughout the full growing cycle. We train on everything from seed selection and soil preparation to post-harvest handling, curing, and quality assessment.
We teach farmers the science behind their crops — soil health, planting density, irrigation, natural pest management, and the specific needs of each variety. Our farmers don't just grow; they understand why every decision matters to the final quality of the product.
We train farmers to see quality the way international buyers do — to identify the right harvest maturity, reject substandard pods or leaves, and handle produce in ways that preserve aroma, colour, and nutrient content from the moment of harvest onwards.
All farmers in our network are trained in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and sustainable land management. We train on natural composting, water conservation, crop rotation, and the absolute prohibition of GMO materials — protecting both the environment and our export certifications.
Every new farmer partner begins with a full farm assessment. Our agronomist visits the farm, evaluates soil health, water access, plot size, and suitability for the agreed crop. Farmers receive a welcome pack including non-GMO planting material and their personalised growing schedule.
A two-day hands-on workshop covering the specific requirements of the assigned crop — from planting distances and soil preparation to pollination techniques (for vanilla), pruning, and early growth monitoring. Farmers work directly alongside our agronomists in demonstration plots.
Our agronomists conduct fortnightly farm visits throughout the growing season. Each visit includes a crop health check, pest and disease assessment, soil moisture evaluation, and coaching on any interventions needed. Farmers can also contact our team by phone between visits.
We train farmers to identify the precise moment of peak maturity for each crop — the visual, aromatic, and tactile signals that indicate optimal harvest time. Getting this right is one of the most important factors in producing export-grade produce.
Post-harvest handling is where quality is made or lost. We train farmers in our traditional sun-drying and curing methods, moisture monitoring, clean storage practices, and how to grade and sort produce before it reaches our collection points.
Our farmer network meets quarterly for group training sessions. These cover new techniques, crop variety updates, feedback from international buyers, and peer learning between farmers. Top performers are recognised and receive advanced training opportunities.
