Vivid yellow pods with a sharp citrus aroma and clean, biting heat at 15,000–30,000 SHU. Sun-dried in Uganda. The signature Peruvian ají — favoured by chefs, craft sauce makers, and craft brewers alike.
Native to Peru and locally known as Ají Limón or Qillu Uchu, Lemon Drop belongs to the Capsicum baccatum species — the same lineage as Ají Amarillo and Ají Cristal. Its slender, translucent yellow pods carry a distinctive citrus aroma unmistakable even before the heat arrives. On the palate, the chili delivers a clean, front-loaded burn with a bright lemon-zest note that pairs particularly well with fish, seafood, and light acidic dressings.
Our Uganda-grown Lemon Drop is sun-dried whole, sorted for uniform yellow colour, and offered in whole, flake, and powder formats — a chef-favoured ingredient for craft hot sauce brands, seafood specialists, and adventurous spice blenders.
The traditional chili paired with raw fish — its citrus aroma amplifies lime juice without muddying the flavour of the fish.
Widely used in seafood marinades, prawn dressings, and light vinaigrettes where heat and citrus need to sit together.
The base for citrus-forward yellow hot sauces — Lemon Drop-pineapple, Lemon Drop-mustard, and Ají Amarillo-style bottles.
Increasingly used by craft brewers for citrus-chili sours, IPAs, and gose beers where lemony heat plays against hop bitterness.
Fresh salsa cruda, mango-Lemon Drop salsa, and citrus-forward chimichurri variants.
A visually striking retail chili flake — vivid yellow contrasts with the standard red chili flake shelf.
Sun-dried whole Lemon Drop pods retaining their vivid yellow colour and citrus aroma. For chili oils, infused vinegars, and retail chili jars.
Coarse 1–5 mm yellow chili flakes. A visual and flavour contrast to the typical red flake shelf.
Milled Lemon Drop powder for citrus hot sauces, seafood rubs, and ají-style seasoning blends.
CoA and phytosanitary certificate with every shipment.
